The border between the two countries is delimited by a buffer zone, demilitarised and emptied of its inhabitants. It is there, in this forbidden zone, that the Wolang have found refuge. These 49 fugitives are the result of failed experiments by the Chinese army, which wanted to transform them into bacteriological weapons to be used against its Russian neighbour.
